BABY CORN BULLETS

INGREDIENTS
For baby corn marination
10-15 baby corns
2 tbsp pizza sauce
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp dry parsley (optional)
1/2 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp soya sauce
1 tsp vinegar
little bit of salt

FOR OUTER FILLING
3-4 boiled potatoes
salt and chili to taste
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tbsp coriander leaves
2-3 tbsp cornflour

Baby corn is high in potassium and folic acid. Corn is filled with fibre that is a huge boon for digestion. It prevents constipation, hemorrhoids and even lowers the risk of colon cancer considerably.

I have added Chinese and Italian spices and herbs in this recipe by adding soya sauce and vinegar on the one hand and oregano and parsley on the other hand.

Outer covering needs to be done with potato for better texture and binding.

I have added cornflour in the potato mix, if you wish you can make potato mix without cornflour and then dip in cornflour batter and coat with bread crumbs. Either way will give good results.

Coating potato mix breadcrumb is important or the bullet will break while deep frying.

It's perfect evening snack for kids or you can serve it in party.

METHOD
Take a deep pan, add some water and boil baby corn till little tender and soft. Don't cook completely, leave it little raw.

Slit the corn from centre.

In other bowl, add pizza sauce, oregano, dry parsley, chili flakes, ginger-garlic paste, soya sauce, vinegar, olive oil and salt. Mix them well. Add half-boiled corn and coat well in the above sauces. Keep it aside for 5-10 minutes.

Take a pan, put a spoon of butter, put marinated corns and saute on high flame for1-2 minute from both the sides. Remove from flame and keep aside to cool.

Let's prepare outer filling by that time.

Take boiled potatoes and mash it well. Add all the ingredients mentioned above in outer filling and mix well.

Take medium ball sized potato and press it flat, keep one or two baby corn in it, cover with potato mix all over and give it a long thick shape like bullet.

Heat oil in pan, deep fry on medium heat.

Serve with tomato sauce.

1. Half-boil baby corn in hot water on high flame for 5 minutes or till half cooked.










2. Drain the excess water and slit the baby corn into half.










3. Mix all the ingredients mentioned under baby corn marination.










4. Put baby corn, coat well and keep aside for 5 minutes.










5. Put some oil or butter in pan, saute baby corns for 2 minutes on high flame.










6. Mix all the ingredients mentioned under outer filling and make dough.










7. Make soft dough by combining all the ingredients. Take medium sized ball, press it flat and fill baby corn.















8. Seal from all over and give bullet shape.

9. Coat the bullets well in bread crumb. If the bullets break while frying. Dip it in thin batter of cornflour and then coat in breadcrumbs.











10. It's ready to go in hot oil.










11. Deep fry.















12. Serve.
